WordPress: Inserting a PDF file

To insert a PDF file:

  1. Click the “Add Media” button on the toolbar

  1. Either upload a new file, or select an existing file.
  2. Once you have selected your file, copy the file URL

  1. Exit the media viewer.
  2. Highlight the text you want to link and click the “Insert/Edit Link” button on the toolbar.

  1. Click the “Link Options” button (it looks like a mechanical wheel”

  1. Insert your file link that you copied into the URL box.
  2. Double check that your link text is correct.
  3. Check “Open link in a new tab”

Your text should be purple, indicating that it is linked.
